The Plow Mare and the Unicorn

Just a little story

One day a plow mare beheld a Unicorn in the pasture.
He was beautiful, white as snow and he shone like a pearl in the moonlight.

She was old and heavy, her mane wiry and her coat dull and gray.
But she gathered all of her courage and approached him.
"Please listen to my plea, I know you have magic... I want to be beautiful"

He calmly lifted his head and spoke with a voice like a wind chime
"What do you mean?"

-"I want thin long legs, like yours"
-"you don't need them"
-"Then I want a slender, arched neck, like yours"
-"You don't need it"
-"Could you at least give me a white mane as soft as as the wind, like yours?"
-"You don't need it"
-"How about eyes as blue as the sky, like yours"
-"You don't need them"

The mare lowered her head and a tear ran down her face...
But he walked towards her and gently brushed the tear off her face
"You are beautiful the way you are"

Un cuentito

Un día una yegua vio a un unicornio en la pradera.
Era hermoso, blanco como la nieve y brillaba como una perla bajo la luna.

Ella era vieja y pesada, su crin era dura y su pelo gris y opaco.
Pero se armó de valor y se le acercó.
"Por favor escucha mi plegaria, se que tienes magia... quiero ser bonita"

El levantó su cabeza despasio y habló con una voz como de mil campanas
"¿Que quieres decir?"

-"Quiero piernas largas y delgadas, como las tuyas"
-"No las necesitas"
-"Entonces quiero un cuello arqueado y delicado, como el tuyo"
-"No lo necesitas"
-"Entonces ¿podrías por lo menos darme una crin blanca, suave como el viento, igual a la tuya?"
-"No la necesitas"
-"¿Y podría tener ojos tan azules como el cielo, como los tuyos?"
-"No los necesitas"

La yegua bajó su cabeza, una lagrima le rodó por la cara...
El caminó hacia ella y gentilmente le limpió las lagrimas
"Eres bonita justo como estas ahora"

Bah! no tengo buen vocabulario xD
